D5′s Program Area Categories

The program area categories used in this directory were developed based on an inventory of the field of population-focused funds conducted as part of the early D5 work. They were based on the most common areas of giving within the population-focused funds within the inventory. They also correspond with many of the program area categories commonly used in the field of philanthropy as a whole. However, the development of the categories is a work in progress and we welcome your thoughts. Do you feel the current program areas capture your work?
