We Are Philanthropy: Lisa Yun Lee

“We Are Philanthropy,” a collection of short films that feature inspiring and diverse donors, will appear on the D5 blog over the next few months. Produced by D5 and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, the films highlight how diverse philanthropists bring their life experiences to their philanthropy as they strive to achieve community impact.

 

The sixth film profile in our series features Lisa Yun Lee, philanthropist and faculty member at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Lisa shared her thoughts about philanthropy which she considers to be “…not an act of service… [but] an act of solidarity with others.” By seeing diversity as an asset and funding diversity, philanthropy becomes an act of transformation that improves all of our lives.
